My name is Michelle Gaede (she/they) and I am a licensed mental health counselor. I'm here to provide a safe space for you to navigate whatever challenges are coming up in your life. I work side by side with you to ensure you're heard, seen, and gain the tools you need to be successful. I have over 10 years of experience working with a variety of clients. I specialize in work with the LGBTQ+ community, as well as long-term trauma, parenting issues, and navigating general life stressors. My approach is eclectic because every person is unique and has different needs. I use a strengths-based, systems-oriented, trauma-focused approach in all my work. I utilize CBT, DBT, humanistic, Gestalt, and concepts of psychodynamics in my work, depending on the needs of my clients. I have experience working with a diverse population and all ages. I am comfortable treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, gender dysphoria, adjustment issues, and grief and loss. I have experience working with transgender and gender-diverse folks as well as anyone questioning identity and/or orientation. I want to provide you a moment of relief in your busy week - a place to set it all aside to focus on yourself and your needs, in a safe, relaxing environment. You won't have to worry about anything except the here and now, giving yourself a chance to really feel what is happening in your mind and body. I will ensure the time boundary is honored, so you know exactly what to expect each session. I can help you visualize a safe space to store the contents of the session, so you're ready to take on the day when the session is complete. Every person is on a journey. Sometimes we need extra support to get us through a difficult time. I've needed help, and I've been able to be that person for others.
